Dearly, Beloved - Lia Habel
I can't do this anymore, I have been reading this book for 13 days. 13 incredibly long fucking days, and I'm only 41% done!

I tried, I really did but I have to dnf at least for now.

EDIT:

Let me start by saying that I did not finish this book and that I only got through 41% before I waved the dreaded white flag. So with saying that, THIS REVIEW IS ONLY BASED ON THE 41% THAT I READ, and is not to be taken as a reflection of the entire book. It is impossible for me to review it entirely since I didn't read all of it, again.

For me, it wasn't the fact that Dearly, Beloved was bad, because it wasn't. It was slow, snail slow.

It was the 1 (Nora), 2 (Bram), 3 (Pamela), 4 (Michael), 5 (Vespertine), 6 (Laura) point of views. Six POV's... Why?? Why were Michael and Vespertine even part of this book? As far as I'm concerned, they had no place in it. Vespertine got her ass saved by Pamela in the first book and Michael got turned down by Nora (also in the first book) so please explain to me how they have become big movers and shakers in the second?? Their parts were over and done with and should of been left out of this book, not given new life.

It was the very small, minor characters in Dearly, Departed that got a status upgrade in Dearly, Beloved. So many characters, not enough time to keep up. I didn't even know who everyone was! There should be some sort of disclaimer at the beginning of the book warning you to re-read Dearly, Departed before you even begin Dearly, Beloved.

I spent 13 days reading this and didn't even make it halfway through. I could have kept pushing on but to be honest, I have TONS of other books that are waiting to be read. Books that won't take me forever to read. Eventually I will get around to finishing this book and adding an edit or maybe even an upgrade. But until that day Dearly, Beloved will remain a 1 star review on my not finished shelf.
